Once the substrate of the concrete pool is prepared waterproofing of the concrete can commence.
To waterproof the concrete use RLA Hydrocoat RL20 “Grey”.
Mix equal parts of Hydrocoat RL20 “Grey”. To achieve good penetration with the first coat application, add 15% water when mixing. Apply the first coat and allow to fully cure.
Once the first coat is cured apply a second coat, without the water addition. Application should be in a 90 degree direction to the first coat. Allow to fully cure.
A third coat is then applied, however it is applied in stages, to achieve a good crosslink between the Hydrocoat RL20 “Grey” and the tile adhesive skim coat.
Apply Hydrocoat RL20 “Grey” in sections, allowing to cure to a touch dry (circa 1 hour) finish, before applying a skim coat of either RLA Tilebond Extra mixed with 100% RLA Uniprime OR Flexi Wall 'n Floor 2 Part General Purpose Adhesive (1 x 15 Litre Liquid to 2 x 25kg General Purpose Powder). Do not use water in either adhesive mix.
Allow sufficient time for the skim coat to cure prior to commencing tiling using the same adhesive options.
Once tiling has been completed, grout using RLA Smooth Grout with 100% RLA Grout ADD or RLA Wondergrout.
Use a recognised pool silicone for completion of sealing around pipes and outlets.
After grouting and siliconing is complete, allow a further 7 days, prior to filling pool.
