A two-part water based modified epoxy primer
Product Description
34 Two Part Primer is a two-part water based modified epoxy primer designed for priming non-porous floors such as ceramic tiles, terrazzo, painted or epoxy surfaces, and sealed or burnished concrete floors prior to the application of cementitious underlayment.
Sub floor Preparation
Sub floor must be free of oil, grease, wax, curing compounds, dust, old adhesive and any other contaminations, which may inhibit bond.
Diamond grinding, shot blasting or scarifying is the referred method of preparation for large areas to remove any contamination.
Note - Concrete floors must be dry in accordance with A.S. 1884 -1985 appendix A 70 % Relative humidity maximum.
Mixing
Thoroughly mix components separately before adding part A to part B after which mix to an even consistency.
Application
Apply a thin even coat of 34 Primer to the substrate using a flat trowel, squeegee or short-nap roller. Allow primer to dry to a thin tack mode (approximately 2 hours) depending on temperature and ventilation. When 34 Primer has dried to a thin tacky film you can then install levelling compounds. Do not leave longer than 24 hours before applying underlayment.
Clean up
Clean all equipment with water immediately after use.
Packaging
8 Kg Kit -4 Kg part A and 4 Kg part B.
2 Kg Kit -1 Kg part A and 1 Kg part B.
Storage
Store in cool dry area out of direct sunlight and protect from frost.
Coverage
Approximately 5 to 10 sq.m per 1 Kg depending on texture of substrate.
Shelf life
12 months in unopened containers.
